The source code of the operating system Android for mobile phones developed by the giant Google has been released has been released so that programmers can make their own changes to this system.
"All the work we have devoted to the mobile platform is now available for free," were the words of Google's developer, Dave Bort on the website where he published the code.
"Do they have a great idea for a new application? Do it! Since it is an open source project, it is best that everyone can contribute to Android and influence its development," said Bort.
Google comes to contrast with those companies who have the code in the operating system of their phones closed; this is the case with Apple with its iPhone that only accepts applications developed by Apple itself. Other examples are the Symbian operating system from Nokia and some that work with Windows.
